2003 Honda Civic Hybrid Car - Easy on the Environment and on Your Budget

Car makers have come up with an innovation by producing vehicles that can help both the environment and the driver's budget. They have manufactured a certain type of car that can function with more than one power-source option. These are the hybrid cars. And one that offers comfort and style: 2003 Honda Civic hybrid car.

What is a Hybrid Car?

A hybrid car is a one that uses more than one energy source to power the car. A gasoline engine and an electric battery run it. These are what we now know as the Gas Electric Hybrid Cars.

A hybrid car can either be a full hybrid or an assist hybrid type. A full hybrid is a car that can run either with a gasoline engine or through batteries or both, while a gasoline engine primarily runs an assist hybrid and the battery takes charge of the gas engine when gas runs out.

There are three most popular hybrid cars in the market. The first car that had been released was the Japanese-made Toyota Prius in 1997, and then followed by Honda Insight, also a Japanese-made car, which was released to the American and Canadian markets in 1999. A few years later, Honda again released another hybrid car: the Honda Civic hybrid.

Seventh Generation Honda Accord (2003-2007)

The seventh generation continued the Honda company's earlier plan of a four year generation cycle, which was not followed in the prior generation. In America it grew again. The sedan and the coupe were the basic models as before, but the coupe was no longer exported to either Europe or Japan under the Accord name.

The North American car received more refinement with chrome interior accents and higher grade interior materials. The trim lines remained the same. A new 4-cylinder engine was introduced while the V6 remained the same, but increased to 240 hp based on modifications to the intake and exhaust systems. The U.S. model was now larger with more interior room and weighed more than its international counterparts. A new "enthusiast" version was introduced with a sports suspension and the Acura CL's 6-speed manual transmission to the V6 Coupe.

In 2003 the company's GPS assisted Navigation system was made an option on all Accord trim lines.

In 2004 was the announcement that a hybrid version called the Accord Hybrid would be available in 2005. Also in 2004 XM Satellite radio became available as a factory installed option. In 2005 various updates were made including standard side curtain and front seat side impact airbags, new wheel designs and modified tail lights.

2003 Honda Prelude For Sale

The Honda Prelude is a type of sports coupe that was produced by a Japanese automotive maker known as Honda. This particular vehicle was in production from 1978 until 2001, replacing the Honda S800 as the premier front engine, rear wheel drive sports car that Honda offers.

This two door coupe spanned over 5 generations but was discontinued after the 5th generation stopping at the 2003 Honda Prelude, which was also known as the Honda Integra and the Honda Acura RSX type S during their sails in North America in late 2001 until its discontinuation in 2003. The production of the car decreased in sales and popularity prompting the United States market for the Honda Prelude to spawn the Accord Coupes to become the de facto replacement for the former star, the Prelude.

For this reason, this Honda is often overlooked as being just another name for the Honda Acura RSX type S, but in overall market viewing, it is still officially called the 2003 Honda Prelude.
